Independent Schools Travel Association

The Independent Schools Travel Association (ISTA) annual award of Travel Scholarships, valued at up to £1000, is made to candidates in schools whose Head is in membership of the Girls’ Schools Association.

Heads are invited to nominate candidates from the Sixth Form who they consider would merit and benefit from an award. Please read the guidelines for heads and for candidates (see downloads) and pass them on to your Head of Sixth Form as appropriate.

We very much hope that members of your Sixth Form will be interested in the Travel Awards and that your School will submit appropriate applications. Normally 4 or 5 awards are made annually, though since it is unlikely that more than one award will be made to any one school, it would be helpful to have a clear indication of the relative merits of the applicants, i.e. an order of priority. We would further recommend that no school should submit more than 2 applications to avoid the risk of disappointment. Moreover, if there are any special personal or financial circumstances concerning your candidates, then please include this information.

The closing date for applications is: 22 February 2012.
